About me. Habitats, places, seasonal, and weather atmospheres alongside colour, shapes, and textures are all part of my approach to making work. An interest in flowering plants grew out of curating the collection of botanical paintings and prints in the Botany Library at the Natural History Museum in London as a young woman.

Becoming a full time painter and printmaker when I moved to Shetland led me to drawing and walking from north to south, east and west, making quick sketches and keeping colour notes. I then started working with mixed media on a larger scale, and developed my printmaking, both with some support from Shetland Arts.

Research is an essential part of my practice it is currently focused on the work of female artists in my artistic landscape which is evolving as a specific project. This takes me to exhibitions, libraries, museums and galleries which are are an essential part of my practice to explore and investigate context, history, and processes.
